Benjamin Hayes, MD, PhD

Benjamin Hayes, MD, PhD

Biography

In his dissertation, Benjamin Hayes MD, PhD, explored novel associations between clinical, biological, and genetic markers underlying the pathophysiology of stress-response dysregulation in children subjected to adverse childhood experiences. His clinical interests have considerable overlap with this research, focusing on identifying prodromal features of maladaptive stress responses that place children at increased risk for later development of medical and behavioral health sequelae, along with establishing targeted therapeutic modalities for this vulnerable population. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer and exploring the city of Providence (with specific interest in finding the best stuffies in town!)
